While it’s important to take some time to ask Why, it doesn’t often help us to get traction on making the next move. Asking What moves us into positive space where we can make positive changes.

There are two distinct types of self-awareness:
Internal Self Awareness is strengthened by Knowing Thyself.
Empower yourself by spending time investigating your own Spectacular! Remember, self-awareness is a meta-skill that serves as a foundation for other life tools. It is attainable and impactful. Here are a few good places to start.

- Knowing what you bring to the table is powerful! Take the StrengthsFinder assessment here.
- Get clear on the values that support your life decisions. Listen to the podcast from Brené Brown, then complete the Values Worksheet.
External Self-Awareness requires Outsider Information.
Find your Loving Critics.
Above, I’ve included the slide with potential questions you might want to pose to your LCs. Meet regularly for feedback.
Don’t forget: Regardless of what you say as a leader, your team/family/friends will be the judge of your alignment to your talk.
Your talk might say: “My door is always open to feedback”
Their experience might be: “Her body language is defensive. She always has an excuse for her behavior.”
Sound familiar? You are not externally self-aware. Find some Loving Critis and start asking the tough questions.
