Find Your Genius.

Thank you for joining me at the Junior League Women’s Conference!

I hope my presentation on Self-Awareness and The Value of Questioning has stuck with you. As a special ‘thank you’ for attending my presentation, I’m including some reminders for your ongoing use.

Resources to Support YOU!

Ask What, not Why

While it’s important to take some time to ask Why, it doesn’t often help us to get traction on making the next move. Asking What moves us into positive space where we can make positive changes.

For example:

Why didn’t I get the job promotion?

What can I do differently next time?

There are two distinct types of self-awareness:

Internal Self Awareness is strengthened by Knowing Thyself.

Empower yourself by spending time investigating your own Spectacular! Remember, self-awareness is a meta-skill that serves as a foundation for other life tools. It is attainable and impactful. Here are a few good places to start.

  1. Take the Insight Quiz from Dr. Eurich to receive your self-awareness results!
  2. Knowing what you bring to the table is powerful! Take the StrengthsFinder assessment here.
  3. Get clear on the values that support your life decisions. Listen to the podcast from Brené Brown, then complete the Values Worksheet.

    External Self-Awareness requires Outsider Information.

    Find your Loving Critics.

Above, I’ve included the slide with potential questions you might want to pose to your LCs. Meet regularly for feedback.

Don’t forget: Regardless of what you say as a leader, your team/family/friends will be the judge of your alignment to your talk.

    For example:

Your talk might say: “My door is always open to feedback”

Their experience might be: “Her body language is defensive. She always has an excuse for her behavior.”

Sound familiar? You are not externally self-aware. Find some Loving Critis and start asking the tough questions.

      Don’t forget to breathe!

Remember your anxiety results in brain chemicals that don’t support creative, problem-solving thoughts. Use Insight Timer App to learn breathing techniques, add stillness to your daily practices, and help you sleep!

I call Denise my “North Star” – she guides and encourages me in the kindest and most authentic way, without judgment or bias. She coached me through a pivotal transition in my life and helped me to set clear intentions, make defined, deliberate decisions, and allow myself grace to be vulnerable during this period of growth.   She knows the right questions to ask, and she has an innate gift for helping you reach your fullest potential.

Denise worked with me and my staff using the Working Genius model. That session literally changed the way we operate as a team; giving us the tools and language we needed to work together in a more positive, effective and efficient way. We loved it (And Denise) so much we asked her back to do more coaching via the Enneagram model. This deepened our understanding of ourselves and each other as a team. Denise brings immeasurable value and we look forward to having her back for more work!

Knowing Denise for many years it was easy to trust her to coach our team.  I expected her to help us, but I have been amazed at the depth she is able to go to with each team member, how intuitive she is and how eloquent she coaches everyone.  In just a couple of meetings, we have made great strides in understanding each other as well as allowing for the unique talents of each individual to shine and support the greater good of the whole.  I have received positive feedback from our team members asking when they will be able to work with her again because she’s helped them reduce their stress and enjoy their jobs again.
